Accountability to be established
*
Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Central Bank (CBCG) says it supports and insists on the reaction of relevant authorities related to the launching of proceedings for the establishment of potential accountability of the CBCG employees.

"In its operation, the CBCG is governed by the principle of zero tolerance to corruption. Therefore, the CBCG will consider the future status of the former Vice-Governor Velibor Milosevic, who is currently member and chairman of the Board of Directors of Universal Bank, because of the corruption allegations, in the light of the fact a prior consent for his election had been given to this bank," says a press release issued by the CBCG.

According to Vijesti daily, Milosevic advised the Atlas Bank owner, Dusko Knezevic, to bribe the CBCG employees who were controlling the legality of his bank's operation.

Knezevic provided Vijesti with a recording of his conversation with Milosevic, which had allegedly taken place several months before Milosevic resigned as a CBCG Vice-Governor in charge of the control of the banking system.

After he had left the CBCG in February of 2016, Milosevic was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Universal Bank, owned by the Greek businessman Petrol Statis.
