Knezevic ready for Atlas Bank s capital increase

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The largest shareholder of Atlas Bank and President of Atlas Group, Dusko Knezevic, expressed his readiness to participate in the capital increase of Atlas Bank, after its interim administration had launched a call for a €22 million capital increase.

According to the Atlas Group's Press Centre, Knezevic will first officially request from the bank's interim administration to release the frozen deposits of Atlas Bank's clients in a planned and controlled manner, in cooperation with the shareholders, and allow the clients to use the bank's services for their business and other activities.

"He will request the participation of the bank's management in its administration in the advisory capacity until the completion of the capital increase in order to ensure the maintenance of stability and subsequent undisturbed operation of the bank," says a press release sent to Mina-business agency.

The press release says it is absolutely necessary for the Central Bank (CBCG) to return Atlas Bank to the shareholders in the shape that is not worse than when the interim administration was instituted, with all commercial activities that were defined at that time.

The Group argues that the introduction of non-commercial, i.e. bureaucratic interim administration has interrupted the regular operation of Atlas Bank, adding that it is therefore necessary to restore its regular commercial activities in cooperation with the shareholders and the CBCG.
