Herceg Novi, (MINA-BUSINESS) – At a meeting with British Ambassador Alison Kemp, Mayor of Herceg Novi Stevan Katic said that it would be in the best interest of the citizens of this city if the Institute "Simo Milosevic" and the Meljine hospital remained in the healthcare and medical tourism sectors and if they upgraded their services.

At the meeting, Kemp inquired about the privatization of the Institute, saying that she carefully followed these processes.

Katic informed Kemp about the latest developments related to these two major companies.

According to a press release issued by the Mayor's Office, the meeting focused on the city's development potentials, the vision of the local administration, the ongoing and planned projects and privatization of the Institute and the Meljine hospital.

Kemp said that Herceg Novi had great potentials, the development of which required careful planning.

Talking about investments in the tourism industry, Kemp said that long queues on the border with Croatia and registration of tourists were great obstacles to further development of this sector.

Katic said that British tourists spent between 15,000 and 20,000 nights in Herceg Novi a year, expressing his hope that this number would increase in future.
