Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy Nikola Vujovic, the Thermal Power Plant (TPP) Pljevlja has worked for over 7,000 hours out of the envisaged 20,000, which requires additional intensification of activities on the ecological reconstruction worth around €40 million.

Answering the question of the Member of Parliament Filip Vukovic of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), he said at the Parliament that the operation of the first TPP unit in the current conditions was limited to 20,000 hours, starting from 1 January 2018.

"Out of the available 20,000 hours, this facility has worked for more than 7,000, which requires additional intensification of activities on its ecological reconstruction, including the installation of modern equipment that will significantly reduce the harmful gas emission and ensure normal functioning of TPP in the coming period," said Vujovic.

A contract for development of a concept design for the ecological reconstruction was signed between Elektroprivreda (EPCG) and Germany's Steag Energy Services.

Vujovic said that the project envisaged the positioning of TPP Pljevlja as the main source of heating in the city.
