Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Democratic Front (DF) has invited the Government to reject the bid for the state-owned stake in the Institute "Simo Milosevic" submitted by a consortium of Montenegrin and Czech companies, as unacceptably low, in order to protect the public interest.

"The bid for a €56.48 percent stake in the Institute amounting to €10 million could not be interpreted in any other way but as at attempted theft," DF says in a press release.

According to the press release, the bid is humiliating given that the Institute boasts 86,000 square metres of office space, 1,600 beds and 20,000 square metres of land located on the seaside.

"This attempt to steal the state-owned property is additionally suspicious if we bear in mind that Ana Djukanovic, sister of the head of state Milo Djukanovic, acts as an intermediary in this transaction," DF says.

DF says that the Podgorica-based company Fidelity Consulting published a detailed analysis of the bid on its blog, according to which it is several times lower than the Institute's market value.

A consortium of the Czech company Philibert and the hotel company Vile Oliva controlled by businessmen Zarko Rakcevic, offered €10 million for a 56.48 percent stake in the Institute.
