Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Sustainable Development Pavle Radulovic has said that the Government plans to fulfil Montenegro’s sustainable development vision until 2030, adding that it envisages a balanced and sustainable economic development, full employment and decent work for everyone.

Opening a meeting of the Mediterranean Commission on Sustainable Development in Budva, he said that, having adopted a National Sustainable Development Strategy until 2030, Montenegro became one of the first countries in the world to have fully accepted and integrated the requirements of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Agenda in its national system.

“The goal of the strategy is to develop a society based on the continuous, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, protection of natural resources and strengthening of social inclusion,” said Radulovic.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry, he said that the strategy showed that Montenegro had demonstrated the commitment to dealing with concrete problems in an objective way.

Radulovic said that the initiatives based on the practical approach and actions were of great importance for the implementation of the Mediterranean Action Plan and activities of the Mediterranean Commission.

The Mediterranean Commission on Sustainable Development is an advisory body to the contracting parties to the Barcelona Convention for the protection of the marine environment and the coastal region of the Mediterranean in their efforts to integrate environmental issues in their socioeconomic programmes and, in so doing, promote sustainable development policies in the Mediterranean region.
