Montenegro to continue making progress in line with the EC guidelines

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a meeting of the Sub-committee on the Internal Market and Competition that Montenegro had achieved good results in the field of competition and internal market and that it should follow the same path in line with the guidelines provided by the European Commission.

Representatives of the Montenegrin institutions presented the progress in the field of competition, state aid, consumer and health protection made since the last Sub-committee meeting, as well as the reforms in the field of banking, insurance and other financial services.

The General Secretariat of the Government says in a press release that the results achieved in the field of the right of establishment and freedom to provide services, intellectual, industrial and commercial property were discussed at the meeting, as well as the situation in the field of public procurement and the company law.

Ministers of economy, finance, transport and maritime affairs, Dragica Sekulic, Darko Radunovic and Osman Nurkovic, presented the results achieved by their departments, as well as the upcoming activities.

Representatives of the European Commission said that the attendance of the three ministers demonstrated Montenegro’s commitment to the EU integration process.
