Tourism industry revenues amount to €1.16 billion

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Chair of the Board of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry Association of the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) Katarina Kazanegra has said that the revenues generated by the tourism industry amounted to €1.16 billion this year, adding that they were €15 million higher than in 2018.

She said at the Board meeting held in the Portonovi Resort that the revenues amounted to €146 billion in the services sector in the first three quarters, up 9.8 percent year on year.

“The number of tourist arrivals increased by 18.3 percent, while they spent 11.3 percent more nights in Montenegro than in the last year’s corresponding period,” said Kazanegra.

According to a press release issued by the PKCG, it was concluded at the meeting that another record-breaking tourist season was behind Montenegro, with excellent results achieved in all segments.

Kazanegra said that that Montenegro had great comparative advantages for the development of your-round tourism, adding that it required more efforts focusing on the tourism sector between mid-December and mid-January.
