Energy and medical tourism have economic growth potential

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Science Sanja Damjanovic has said that energy, agriculture and medical tourism are the priority sectors that have a great economic growth potential in Montenegro.

She said at the Green Days 2020 conference that Montenegro was the first non-EU country to have adopted the Smart Specialization Strategy.

“Montenegro has been recognized as a regional Green Hub with a high level of used potential for renewable energy and mineral material, based on the principles of circular economy and sustainable environment,” said Damjanovic.

The two-day online conference Green Days 2020, organized by the United National Development Programme (UNDP) in cooperation with the Government and the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG), started today in the form or a series of online talks.

The Ministry of Science says in a press release that the event focused on the changes caused by the technological progress and the impact of innovations and investments in research and development of the competitiveness and economic development of the country.
