municipality provides two
types of connectivity . First type is the standard internet access and
second type is connection of remote facilities into closed internal client
networks. The current setup of the network allows segmentation into 4096
VLAN’s and each of the VLANS can be routed via the main router on Ljubovic
BS or one of two redundant auxiliary routers . Auxiliary router one is
located in Mina NOC and auxiliary router two is located in Montsky premises.
In case of the failure of the main router one of the redundant ones kicks
in and overtakes the control of the network. Even if the network suffers the
malfunction of the two routers the third one will kick in an provide
constant service to the customers. This is why we have decided to use
logical VLAN routing because it gives system high flexibility and
possibility to give non standard service to the client and makes a network
very robust.
